One of the biggest concerns right now is the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes.
Araghchi said talks in Oman focused on finding ways to ensure safe movement through the waterway that benefits neighbouring countries.
However, tensions remain high.
The US military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) said American forces are continuing a blockade of Iranian ports. It claimed that 38 ships were told to turn around or go back to port.
Iran has strongly opposed the naval blockade and says it remains in control of the strategic strait.
Senior Iranian lawmaker Ali Nikzad also said Tehran will not allow things to return to pre-war conditions in the Strait of Hormuz.
