Muscat, October 3 (SANA) A crude oil tanker was hit by an unknown projectile about four nautical miles east of Oman, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on Saturday.
In a statement posted on X, the agency said the vessel’s captain reported damage to the port side of the tanker. All crew members were safe, and no environmental impact had been reported so far.
UKMTO urged vessels transiting the area to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity.
On Friday, the agency reported that a vessel had been struck by an unknown projectile while exiting the Strait of Hormuz, sparking a small fire and causing a power outage on board. The fire was extinguished, and the vessel continued its voyage.
