Corporate earnings of Q1, RBI MPC meet from August 3-5, crude oil prices are among key things to track this week as an investor.
1. Corporate Earnings
Corporate earnings will remain in focus this week as several heavyweight companies across banking, telecom, energy, FMCG, auto, healthcare, real estate and technology announce their June quarter (Q1FY27) results. Key names include Bharti Airtel, ONGC, Marico, MCX, Godrej Properties, NHPC, Nykaa, PNB Housing Finance, RITES, UPL, Torrent Power, DLF, IREDA, Jindal Stainless, Nazara Technologies, CAMS, KEI Industries, KIMS, Mobikwik, Cummins India, Berger Paints, Biocon, Aurobindo Pharma, Power Grid, Policybazaar, Apollo Tyres, Britannia Industries, Hero MotoCorp, Trent, LIC, Lupin, Motherson, Fortis Healthcare, State Bank of India (SBI), Titan, Hindalco, Raymond, Kaynes Technology, BEML, Godrej Consumer Products, PFC and Oil India.
The earnings calendar is packed throughout the week. On Monday (August 3), results from DLF, IREDA, UPL, CAMS, Jindal Stainless, Nazara Technologies and Torrent Power will be watched closely. Tuesday (August 4) will see earnings from Bharti Airtel, ONGC, Marico, MCX, Godrej Properties, Nykaa and NHPC. 2. Crude Oil Prices
Crude oil prices will be a key catalyst to impact the market movement this week. Oil prices surged over 20 per cent in July, the most since March, with WTI and Brent trading at $84.67 and $87.93 per barrel, respectively. The prices which earlier cooled off gained the upward momentum after Middle East conflict intensified as Iran said it struck two tankers in Hormuz.
As India imports almost 90 per cent of its crude oil requirement, any upward movement in prices puts pressure on forex, increasing the risk of inflation in the economy.
3. RBI MPC August
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will hold its August 3-5 Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting to discuss on the repo rate. In the previous May MPC meeting, RBI kept the repo rate unchanged at 5.25 per cent.
The MPC’s decision on key policy rates and its outlook on liquidity may influence home loan EMIs, lending rates, and fixed deposit returns in coming days.
The decision will have an immediate impact on the market as well, as investors will get cues on the economy’s situation and how the central bank is navigating it.
