Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, which stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Yash as Ravana, has continued to be one of the most anticipated Indian film projects. The two-part mythical epic has already sparked a lot of interest since the announcement.
Kajal Aggarwal is set to portray Mandodari in the film and has now talked about the project’s scope. She also described the film as a cinematic experience that India has never seen before.
During a recent interview with Variety India, Kajal discussed how working on Ramayana has been unlike anything she has ever done. The actor claimed that the film’s emotional depth and technical scope make it a special undertaking for the whole crew.
The actress shared, “The experience was so different because it’s a technically superior production. It’s just something India has never witnessed before. And as actors, it’s pretty much the first time that we’re doing something like this. It is an intrinsically Indian story and it’s so close to our hearts.”
In the movie, Kajal plays Ravana’s wife, Mandodari. Her remarks have increased the excitement surrounding the project, which is being promoted as one of the largest film versions of the Indian epic.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana will feature Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, Arun Govil as King Dashrath, and Yash takes on the role of Ravana.

The combined budget of the two instalments is reportedly expected to be around Rs 4,000 crore, or roughly $500 million, making it one of the most expensive projects worldwide.
The first instalment of Ramayana is slated to hit screens on Diwali in 2026. The second instalment will be released the following year.
