At launch, staking is limited to Ethereum. Clients can access it through the Client Portal, and crypto infrastructure firm Zerohash provides the service.
The company announced the news in a press release on October 13. It said eligible Interactive Brokers LLC clients can stake Ethereum through the Staking Dashboard.
Clients can submit stake or unstake requests in the dashboard. They can also monitor any pending activity there.
How the Rewards Work
Rewards are credited as additional staked ETH. These rewards can compound while the position remains staked.
Interactive Brokers CEO Milan Galik compared the service to the firm’s Stock Yield Enhancement Program. That program lets clients earn extra income on shares they own.
“Staking gives clients an opportunity to earn rewards on the cryptocurrency they own,” Galik said in a release. He added, “We want clients to earn more from the assets they hold.”
Earlier Crypto Moves
Interactive Brokers first launched crypto trading in 2021. It expanded its offerings in early 2025.
In January, the brokerage introduced 24/7 account funding using USDC. This allows round-the-clock trading.
Earlier this year, the firm also launched Bitcoin and Ethereum futures trading. It did so in partnership with Coinbase Derivatives.
The broker currently supports trading in up to 20 crypto assets. It manages over $900 billion in client assets.
The company has also moved into prediction markets. In May, it launched a unified platform that brings together markets from Kalshi, CME, and ForecastEx.
The platform gathers similar contracts into one searchable interface. It is designed to show users the best price.
Interactive Brokers stock is trading near $87 on the day of the launch. That is down over 1%, according to TradingView data.
The shares are also down over the past week and down 4% in the past month. They remain up over 32% so far this year.
Meanwhile, Morgan Stanley has reportedly sought a national trust bank charter. The charter would let it custody digital assets and offer staking and trading services to investment clients.
