Funding Fuels Platform Expansion And AI Development
The New York-based alternative investment platform CAIS secured $170 million in Series D financing that will support the enhancement of the firm’s technology platform and fuel expansion. The investment values the firm at $2 billion and brings its total funds raised to almost $600 million.
The round was conducted with Vista Equity Partners as the lead investor along with AllianzBernstein, Blue Owl Capital, Carlyle, Fortress Investment Group, Golub Capital, Lord Abbett, and the Royal Bank of Canada.
The proceeds will be used to scale the CAIS platform, enhance its AI capabilities, pursue additional strategic growth opportunities, and continue building tools to simplify financial advisor access and allocation to alternatives.
Platform Growth Reflects Rising Advisor Demand
Since its founding in 2009, CAIS has established an end-to-end infrastructure and operating system that can support alternative investments throughout the entire life cycle-from an initial investment assessment and commitment through reporting and management.

AI And Technology Drive Future Strategy

CAIS aims to serve as the platform of choice for advisors on alternative investing. Stretching from Funds Marketplace and Custom Funds to Capital Markets, it creates a single digital space for advisors to source, assess, invest in, and service private market private equity products.
AI is an increasingly central pillar of that effort. The organization is integrating AI into its advisor workflow, aiming to save time and increase advisor productivity, and automate tasks involved in how advisors analyze an investment in the first place.
The growing adoption of private market assets among wealth managers has created increasing demand for platforms capable of handling complex investment products while maintaining compliance and operational efficiency. CAIS aims to address that need through continued technology development and product expansion.

Investors Back Long-Term Alternative Investment Infrastructure
The new funding reveals a large increase in institutional belief in alternative infrastructure over and above the assets. As more and more independents use alternatives such as private equity, private credit, hedge funds and alternative assets, platforms that streamline investment workflows have been deemed more critical to them.
The new $170m financing represents one of the biggest Series D funds in the U.S over the last few years, the industry said. Also significant is that large global asset managers are still eager to support tech firms enabling the ever-growing private wealth industry.
CAIS aims to use the money to continue developing and funding infrastructure and artificial intelligence features and further drive business growth as it remains a key technology partner for wealth managers. CAIS is backed with over $600m in capital.
