LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESS Newswire / October 8, 2026 / What do a Broadway revival, an impact fund that enables homeownership, and the first new music streaming service in nearly a decade have in common? They’re alternative investment opportunities that accredited investors might otherwise never hear about. Investor Collective, a free community for accredited investors, today launched the Investor Collective podcast, a series of candid interviews with the operators behind opportunities referred by its members. The first three episodes feature the Broadway revival of Damn Yankees, Ownify’s Home Fund, and Coda Music.
Private markets are no longer just for institutions. The U.S. Department of Labor’s March proposal on alternative investments in 401(k) plans has sharpened a question individual investors already face: how do you evaluate an opportunity that doesn’t trade on a public exchange?
The new podcast answers by asking every operator the same core questions: what drives returns, what risks investors face, and how long their money is committed. Nearly every episode closes with the guest’s best and worst investment, and what they learned from each.
The first episodes include:
Damn Yankees
The first Broadway revival of Damn Yankees in more than 30 years, with an all-star cast as featured in The Hollywood Reporter
Ownify’s Home Fund
An impact investment that co-invests alongside first-time buyers, helping them become homeowners with as little as 2% down.
Coda Music
According to Coda, the first fully licensed, on-demand premium music streaming service to launch in nearly a decade, licensed by all three major music companies. It pairs streaming with a built-in social network for fan communities and discovery, and lets subscribers direct $1 of their monthly fee to an independent artist of their choice. A family plan including Disney music is coming soon.
The conversation doesn’t end when the episode does
Evaluating an unfamiliar investment is hard to do alone. Each episode links to the opportunity in Investor Collective’s member portal, where members can search by investment type and compare company-provided details such as minimums, projected returns, hold periods and stated self-directed IRA (SDIRA) eligibility.
Members can also see who referred each opportunity, ask questions, and share their own investment experiences. Investor Collective is free for accredited investors and receives no compensation tied to investments in the opportunities discussed.
From an investor group to a podcast
Hosted by co-founders Dustin Luther and Lisa Farris, the series grew out of an in-person group of accredited investors in Southern California. Members meet to share wins, losses, and lessons learned, and to refer opportunities for the group to explore.
“The hardest part of investing outside the stock market isn’t always finding deals. It’s knowing how to assess them and what to ask,” said Lisa Farris, co-founder of Investor Collective. “We built the podcast around the questions our members ask each other in the room, and the hard-won lessons of investors who have been there.”
“Some of the most valuable lessons in our group came from investments that didn’t work out as anticipated,” said Dustin Luther, co-founder of Investor Collective. “We often learn more from the investments that disappoint than from the ones that succeed, and those are the stories investors rarely get to hear.”
About Investor Collective
Investor Collective is a curated community built around a simple idea: investors often learn best from other investors. We bring together accredited investors to exchange ideas, share investment experiences, and build trusted relationships through events, research, content, and ongoing conversation.
The focus is on investor perspectives: how opportunities are assessed, what risks matter, where investments fit within a portfolio, and how investors make decisions. Members refer investment opportunities for the community to explore and evaluate. Investor Collective also brings in experts and organizations to share relevant expertise and perspectives.
