Over the years, there have constantly been calls from Xbox fans for some kind of equivalent to the Platinum Trophy system on PlayStation – a special kind of recognition for completing all the trophies in a single game.
Xbox has always been reluctant to implement this for whatever reason, but today, Xbox boss Asha Sharma has teased that her team has “something” in the works related to a Platinum Trophy equivalent for later in 2026.
Sharma revealed this in response to a fan on social media:
It obviously remains to be seen what kind of equivalent this will be, but we assume they might add some kind of generalised platinum trophy that always unlocks whenever you 100% the achievements for each Xbox game, serving as a badge of honour that perhaps you might even be able to display on your profile.
Whatever the case may be, it sounds like we’ll be hearing more in the near future, and we’re pretty excited for its addition! Anything that allows us to highlight our achievements even more prominently is a good thing in our view.
