MUMBAI, March 25, 2026: Private sector lender ICICI Bank announced on Wednesday that it has allotted 1,213,683 equity shares to employees under its Employee Stock Option Scheme (ESOS-2000). The allotment, valued at a face value of Rs 2 per share, was finalized during the morning trading session.
Key Details of the Allotment
The bank informed the BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) that the issuance was authorized by two Executive Directors at 11:31 a.m. today. This move follows the power delegated by the Board of Directors during their meeting held on October 21, 2023.
Market Reaction and Context
Following the announcement, ICICI Bank’s stock showed resilience on the exchanges. As of mid-day, the shares were trading at approximately ₹1,267.90, up 1.33% from the previous close.
This allotment is part of the bank’s ongoing strategy to align employee interests with long-term shareholder value. While such issuances lead to a marginal expansion of the paid-up equity capital, analysts typically view these as routine corporate actions for large-cap banking institutions.
The bank has been active in its ESOP distributions this month, having previously allotted shares on March 9, 13, and 17, 2026. This latest tranche represents one of the larger allotments in the current quarter, reflecting the vesting of options granted in previous years.
