PhonePe has rebranded its stockbroking platform Share.Market as PhonePe Invest and launched a tool that allows investors to assess their portfolios, review holdings across demat accounts and identify potential changes to their investments.

The tool, called Portfolio Optimiser, provides a consolidated view of portfolio health and diversification, along with research-backed Hold, Monitor or Sell ratings for individual holdings, the company said on October 19.

The tool is designed to help investors identify underperforming assets, sector concentration risks and other factors affecting their portfolios. It also suggests alternatives to help users rebalance their investments.

PhonePe said investors can use a one-click feature to optimise their portfolios on its platform.

The tool has three functions: building a portfolio, reviewing existing investments and identifying opportunities to optimise holdings. The build feature is aimed at new investors, while the review function provides an overview of investments held across demat accounts.

The optimisation feature focuses on identifying assets and concentration risks that may warrant further attention.

The ratings and suggested alternatives are intended to inform investment decisions. Investors would still need to assess whether any suggested changes are suitable for their financial goals, risk appetite and investment horizon.

Portfolio Optimiser will be available through the dedicated PhonePe Invest app. The company also plans to integrate simplified investment options and guided investment journeys into its main PhonePe app.

The rebranding brings the stockbroking and wealth platform under the PhonePe name, alongside the company’s payments, lending and insurance businesses. The platform offers stocks, initial public offerings (IPOs), mutual funds and futures and options (F&O).

Existing Share.Market users will continue to have access to their demat holdings, account balances, watchlists, order history and login credentials following the transition, PhonePe said.

The company added that brokerage rates, fee plans and annual maintenance charges (AMC) would remain unchanged.

PhonePe launched Share.Market in August 2023 through its subsidiary, PhonePe Wealth Broking Private Limited.

The subsidiary is registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) as a stockbroker and research analyst, and with CDSL as a depository participant.

Rahul Chari, founder and chief technology and product officer at PhonePe, said the rebranding brings the company’s wealth and broking services under a common identity.

The company said the move is intended to make its investment products accessible to a wider section of its user base.
