After a flat start to the day, the Nifty inched higher and formed its high point in the first hour of the session. It then gradually lost ground and slipped into the negative zone. The markets kept slowly losing ground for the rest of the day. While no major recovery was seen, the headline index closed with a net loss of 155.75 points
