The world’s biggest shipbroker has added 20 new faces to its roster.
London-listed Clarksons has welcomed the fresh recruits as part of its global trainee broker programme.
The trainees have signed on with the company in eight international offices: Connecticut, Dubai, Hamburg, London, New York, Oslo, Singapore and Tokyo.
The cohort came together at the London office for a global induction, described by the shop as “an important and energising start to the programme”.
The introduction is designed to help trainees build strong connections, get to know Clarksons and the industry, and prepare for their roles through interactive learning sessions, networking opportunities, expert-led insights, social events and external industry visits.
The recruits have now moved on to undertake broking rotations in their local offices, gaining hands-on learning and practical experience.
“Trainees are a much-valued part of our business, bringing fresh perspectives, curiosity and a growth mindset that fuels innovation and reflects our shared passion for excellence,” Clarksons said.
Last November, 22 trainees joined the group.
They started work in Dubai, Houston, London, New Delhi, Oslo, Singapore, Shanghai and Tokyo.
Kiran Brown, head of talent acquisition, said: “At Clarksons, we don’t just hire talent — we invest in it. Our programme reflects this by offering trainees a unique opportunity to build a solid foundation within broking, while supporting their growth into future brokers and leaders within the company.”
Learning & development manager Nick Daragon added: “Learning at Clarksons is immersive and continuous.
“Our programme develops early talent through real-world experience, shared knowledge and a culture that values growth — equipping trainees with the tools and support to build.”
