Judge Approves $5.1M Atty Fee In JPMorgan Spoofing Case

By Katryna Perera (June 6, 2022, 8:35 PM EDT) — A New York federal judge awarded $5.1 million to lawyers representing a group of futures investors who sued JPMorgan Chase & Co. over allegations of harm from a yearslong scheme by the bank’s traders to manipulate the U.S. Treasury futures market.

U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer issued his order Friday after the bank agreed to pay nearly $15.7 million to resolve the lawsuit in September.

The $5.1 million award will be given to class counsel from Lowey Dannenberg PC and Kirby McInerney LLP, and it equates to about a third of the settlement fund. Judge Engelmayer said class counsel had prosecuted…
