Falinski’s farewell – Northern Beaches Advocate

“Across the last six years, I fought fiercely to guarantee our commitment to net zero, advancing new technologies for clean energy, making sure everyone can experience the Australian Dream in owning their own home, fighting for a taxpayer Bill of Rights, a better deal for our retirees and reforming employee share schemes to unlock a new wave of innovation in the Australian economy. Additionally, I tried to hold APRA, ASIC and the Reserve Bank to account.

“Locally, we stopped gas and oil exploration off the Northern Beaches, secured funding for Wakehurst Parkway, funded phone towers at Belrose and Cottage Point, got upgrades to our sports facilities, including major developments at Long Reef Surf Life Saving Club and for Manly Warringah Football Association, secured additional support for our schools, backed local businesses and helped our community hubs transition to renewable energy.

“We did a lot but there is still a lot more for my successor to do.

“I want to thank my family who has sacrificed so much for me to be in service of the nation. Thank you to my staff who have worked tirelessly. I am incredibly proud of our record in always putting the Mackellar community first, especially making sure everyone had access to this office and providing every bit of assistance to those who needed it.

“But most of all I want to thank the community for the opportunity to serve as your Member for Mackellar,” said Mr Falinski.
