Poland’s economy expanded at the fastest pace in three years in the third quarter, giving a needed boost to the government which is struggling to contain the country’s budget deficit.

Gross domestic product increased 3.7% in the July-September period from a year ago, matching analyst expectations and up from a revised 3.3% in the previous three months, according to preliminary data published Thursday. It marked the quickest growth since the third quarter of 2022.
