Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer will be quizzed in Parliament today after shock figures revealed four million people are claiming benefits without having to look for work.
The number has rocketed by a staggering 1.3 million since Sir Keir became Prime Minister. And details of the staggering rise came as unemployment hit a four year high of 5%.
Chancellor Rachel Reeves has said growing the economy will be a key part of her Budget on November 26 but this week’s data suggests she is struggling so far.
Other topics that might come up include the ongoing crisis at the BBC, the prospect of a review of the decision to refuse compensation to “WASPI” women affected by state pension age increases, and the revelation that more than 90 prisoners have been freed by mistake since April.
