The Sussex County Association of Realtors will be offering a virtual broker’s course from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, from Sept. 13 to Nov. 30, via Zoom. Orientation is set for 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, Sept. 12, via Zoom.

The course is open to licensed Delaware Realtors with five or more years of professional work experience.

No classes will be held during the week of Thanksgiving, and the final exam will occur Wednesday, Nov. 30. A minimum of 12 registrations is required for the course to be held.

The course fee is $999. A $100 discount is available for those who register before Monday, Aug. 15. SCAOR will notify enrollees when the course books are available to be picked up. For an additional fee of $25, materials may be mailed.

A person with a broker’s license typically has greater career independence than a licensed agent. Brokers are allowed to operate independently or open a brokerage to assemble a team of sales agents who will work exclusively for them.

A broker’s license professionally reflects a higher level of education and experience, which often serves as a competitive edge when vying for business.
